  • Revolts against the misuse of power
  • Seeks a system of accountability
  • Seeks to repair imbalances throughout the world and persons in the world
  • Practices a balancing act of being fair to ourselves and being fair to others
  • Recognizes feeling of fairness and unfairness
  • Moves beyond feelings, even though she acknowledges them, to invite all of us and each of us to respond to these questions:

    1. How are we best to live together?
    2. How do we learn to do that?
    3. Is this not why we are here, to discover this, to try this and that until something works for all of us?
    4. How are we to govern ourselves so that the human spirit flourishes in all of its uniqueness and variety?

  1. In human situations of denial, deprivation, prejudice, favoritism, do you stand in their place, feel their feelings?
  2. Do you have an innate sense of balance or proportion so that when you observe an imbalance, you feel compelled to right it, to harmonize it, to the exclusion of neither side?
  3. Can you describe that feeling? How and when it emerged in you?
